Overview

The Squier FSR Classic Vibe Active '70s Jazz Bass combines the classic styling of a 1970s Jazz Bass with a versatile active/passive electronics system. Its Poplar body is finished in striking Candy Apple Red, complemented by a matching painted headstock, parchment pickguard and vintage-inspired appointments. The familiar Jazz Bass shape provides a comfortable platform for a wide range of playing styles, from funk and soul to rock and modern pop.

Two Fender-Designed Alnico Noiseless Jazz Bass pickups deliver punchy, detailed tones while reducing unwanted hum. The onboard 9V preamp expands the tonal range with dedicated treble and bass boost, alongside volume, pickup blend and tone controls. A two-position active/passive switch allows the bass to operate either with the preamp engaged or as a traditional passive Jazz Bass.

The maple neck features a comfortable "C" profile, 9.5" Indian Laurel fingerboard radius and 20 narrow-tall frets. An ivory-bound fingerboard with pearloid block inlays provides the distinctive 1970s-inspired appearance, while the HiMass bridge adds mass for resonance, sustain and stable intonation. Vintage-style tuners and nickel hardware complete the specification.

The 34" scale length provides the familiar full-scale Jazz Bass feel, while the "C"-shaped maple neck and 9.5" radius Indian Laurel fingerboard offer a comfortable playing surface. The 1.5" bone nut width gives the neck the familiar compact spacing associated with a Jazz Bass.

The HiMass bridge uses a high-mass plate and four substantial saddles to provide resonance, sustain and stable intonation. Vintage-style tuning machines and nickel-plated hardware complement the instrument's classic styling, while .045-.105 nickel-plated steel strings are fitted as standard.
