Body Shape: Single-Cutaway
Orientation: Right-Handed
Finish: Available in Antique Amber, Dark Blue Burst, Vintage Burst and Trans Black

Overview

The Cort CR250 is a vintage-inspired electric guitar that combines classic single-cutaway styling with rich humbucker tones and traditional construction. Part of Cort's Classic Rock Series, it is designed for players seeking the feel and sound of golden-era electric guitars, making it an excellent choice for blues, classic rock, hard rock and a wide range of other styles.

Featuring a mahogany body with a flamed maple top, the CR250 delivers a warm tonal foundation with a distinctive figured appearance. Its set-neck construction, mahogany neck and jatoba fingerboard complement the traditional design, while the 24.75-inch scale length provides a familiar feel for comfortable chord work and expressive string bends.

Two Cort Voiced Tone VTH-59 humbuckers, inspired by classic PAF-style pickups, provide warm, full-bodied tones with plenty of character. Combined with independent volume and tone controls for each pickup, a Tune-O-Matic bridge and vintage-style tuning machines, the CR250 offers classic looks and versatile performance.

Key Features

Playability and Comfort

The CR250 features a mahogany neck with a comfortable playing feel, paired with a jatoba fingerboard and a 12-inch radius. Its 22 frets provide plenty of room for chords, riffs and lead playing, while the 24.75-inch scale length offers a slightly shorter feel than a traditional 25.5-inch electric guitar, making string bends comfortable for many players.

The set-neck construction provides a traditional playing experience, while the single-cutaway body allows access to the upper frets for lead work and expressive playing.

Tonewoods and Construction

The mahogany body provides a warm, full-bodied tonal foundation with a rich midrange, while the flamed maple top adds visual depth and a distinctive figured grain. The set-neck construction complements the guitar's traditional design, supporting resonance and sustain.

A mahogany neck and jatoba fingerboard complete the construction, with rectangular white pearl inlays providing a classic visual detail. Cream binding around the body adds definition and reinforces the CR250's vintage-inspired aesthetic.

Electronics

The CR250 is equipped with two Cort Voiced Tone VTH-59 humbuckers, featuring Alnico II magnets and custom-gauge coils. Inspired by classic PAF-style pickups, they deliver warm, rounded tones with a full midrange and expressive response.

  • Neck Humbucker: Produces warm, smooth tones suited to blues, melodic lead playing and rich clean sounds.

  • Bridge Humbucker: Delivers a punchier, more focused sound for rock riffs and articulate lead lines.

  • Three-Way Pickup Selector: Switches between the neck pickup, bridge pickup or both pickups together.

  • Independent Volume Controls: Allow separate adjustment of each pickup's output.

  • Independent Tone Controls: Provide individual tonal shaping for the neck and bridge pickups.

Hardware and Setup

The CR250 features a Tune-O-Matic bridge paired with a stop tailpiece, providing a secure string anchor and supporting reliable tuning and intonation. Vintage-style tuning machines complement the traditional design while providing practical tuning adjustment.

A Graph Tech NuBone nut supports consistent string vibration, while nickel hardware completes the classic aesthetic. The guitar comes fitted with D'Addario EXL110 strings.

Design Details

The Cort CR250's single-cutaway silhouette, flamed maple top and cream binding create a timeless appearance inspired by classic rock guitars. Rectangular white pearl fingerboard inlays and nickel hardware add traditional detailing, while the choice of finishes allows players to select a look that suits their style.
