Top: Solid Sitka Spruce, The Sitka‐spruce soundboard gives the F-12 clarity, strong projection, and a wide dynamic range, ideal for strumming, flatpicking or fingerstyle. 

Back & Sides: Solid Indian Rosewood, The Indian rosewood back and sides lend warmth, rich overtones, balanced lows and mids, giving the guitar depth and a full, complex tonal character.
Together, these woods deliver the F-12’s signature voice: rich yet clear, warm yet articulate, a guitar that remains balanced and expressive across a broad stylistic range.

Elegant Craftsmanship & Detailing
Every F-12 shows the refined, understated craftsmanship typical of Lowden Guitars:

• Binding: Cherry binding adds a subtle but elegant frame to the body. 

• Rosette & Purfling: Traditional rosette (often rosewood/ maple soundhole rosette) and tasteful purflings, all combining visual refinement with acoustic integrity.

• Finish: Satin (hand-rubbed lacquer) finish, giving a natural feel and allowing the woods to resonate freely.

Neck, Feel & Hardware

• Neck: 3-piece Mahogany “bolt-on” neck, a design choice to reduce overall weight and improve vibration transfer, yielding a well-balanced, responsive instrument. 

• Fingerboard: Ebony fingerboard, offering a smooth, durable playing surface and contributing clarity to the guitar’s tone.

• Nut Width: ~45 mm nut width, offers comfortable string spacing suitable for fingerstyle, flatpicking or chord work.

• Scale Length: 650 mm (≈ 25.6″), giving balanced string tension and classic feel. 

• Tuners: Gotoh SG381 tuners with ebony buttons, quality hardware for stable, precise tuning.

• Construction: All-solid tonewoods (top, back, sides), ensuring resonance, sustain, and tonal depth.

Body Shape & Feel

• Body Shape: “F” (mid-sized), the F-body sits comfortably between smaller “S”-size and larger “O”-size in Lowden’s range, giving a balanced size that works well both seated and standing.

• Feel: The F-12’s size and neck profile make it versatile, suitable for fingerstyle nuance, flat-picking articulation, or full strumming without sacrificing balance or comfort.

Electronics & Case

• Electronics: None, the F-12 is designed as a pure acoustic instrument, optimised for natural tone and resonance.
