Sitka spruce offers clear note articulation, strong projection and a lively dynamic response that works equally well for fingerstyle and strummed chords, giving the 000-10E Retro a balanced and versatile voice.
Back & Sides: Solid Sapele
Sapele back and sides add warmth and a rich midrange character, complementing the spruce top with a well-rounded tonal palette and solid low-end presence.
Together, these woods provide a classic Martin tone, clear and balanced across the frequency spectrum, with enough soul for songwriting, rehearsals, and relaxed playing.

Traditional Martin appointments and refined details give the 000-10E Retro an understated yet classic aesthetic:

• Rosette: Single-ring fiber rosette for a clean, timeless appearance.

• Binding: Black body binding that frames the top with a subtle, vintage-inspired style.

• Pickguard: Faux tortoise pickguard protects the spruce top without detracting from the natural wood look.

• Finish: Satin finish on top, back and sides enhances resonance and gives the guitar an easy-to-play feel.

Neck, Feel & Hardware

• Neck: Select hardwood neck with the Performing Artist (PA) profile and High-Performance Taper for comfortable, modern playability.

• Fingerboard: Ebony fingerboard provides smooth playability and durability.

• Nut Width: 1 3/4″ (≈ 44.5 mm), a classic dreadnought-style width that balances chordal and single-note work.

• Scale Length: 24.9″, slightly shorter than many full-size acoustics, making fretting and bending easier while keeping balanced tension. 

• Tuners: Nickel open-gear tuners, vintage styling with reliable tuning stability. 

• Bracing: Scalloped X-bracing enhances resonance and dynamics without overwhelming the natural core tone.
