Overview

The Squier Limited Edition Classic Vibe Bass VI brings the distinctive character of Fender's original Bass VI to a modern Squier instrument. Inspired by the Bass VI models produced from 1961 to 1975, it is tuned an octave below a standard guitar, occupying the space between guitar and bass and offering a unique foundation for experimental playing, atmospheric textures, melodic basslines and studio arrangements. The Poplar body is finished in Candy Apple Red with a matching painted headstock and parchment pickguard.

Three Fender-Designed Alnico single-coil pickups provide a versatile range of vintage-inspired tones. Each pickup has its own on/off slide switch, while a dedicated two-position "Strangle" circuit provides a bass-cut option for creating tighter, more focused sounds. Master Volume and Master Tone controls complete the straightforward control layout.

The 30" scale length, slim "C"-shaped maple neck and 9.5" Indian Laurel fingerboard create a comfortable playing platform, while the vintage-style floating vibrato and six-saddle bridge provide the characteristic Bass VI feel. Vintage-style tuners, nickel-plated hardware, pearloid dot inlays and aged white pickup covers complete the 1960s-inspired design.

The slim "C"-shaped maple neck is paired with a 9.5" radius Indian Laurel fingerboard and 21 narrow-tall frets, while the 42.8mm bone nut provides a comfortable string spacing.

Tonewoods and Construction

The Bass VI features a Poplar body with a gloss polyurethane finish and a maple neck with a vintage-tint gloss urethane finish. The Indian Laurel fingerboard has pearloid dot inlays, while the matching painted headstock reinforces the vintage-inspired appearance.

Electronics

Three Fender-Designed Alnico single-coil pickups provide the Bass VI's core tonal palette. Individual on/off slide switches allow each pickup to be selected independently, while the two-position bass-cut "Strangle" circuit can tighten the response. Master Volume and Master Tone controls provide overall adjustment.

Hardware and Setup

A six-saddle vintage-style bridge with non-locking floating vibrato provides the characteristic Bass VI tremolo effect while barrel saddles help maintain string stability. Vintage-style tuning machines and nickel-plated hardware complete the hardware specification. Fender Nickel Plated Steel .024-.084 strings are fitted as standard.

Design Details

The Candy Apple Red finish is paired with a matching painted headstock, 3-ply parchment pickguard and aged white pickup covers. Nickel hardware, black control knobs and pearloid dot inlays reinforce the instrument's 1960s-inspired aesthetic.
