The Taylor Academy 12e is a player-focused electro-acoustic designed to deliver premium feel and tone at an accessible level. Built by Taylor Guitars, it combines high-quality materials with ergonomic design features, making it one of the best step-up guitars for beginners and intermediate players.

At its core is a solid torrefied spruce top, which provides strong projection, clarity, and a slightly “played-in” warmth thanks to a special roasting process. This is paired with layered walnut back and sides, offering durability and a balanced tonal character.

The compact Grand Concert body makes it especially comfortable to hold, while the built-in armrest improves playing comfort during long sessions. Combined with Taylor’s slim-profile neck, the Academy 12e is designed to be easy and enjoyable to play from the first chord.
