Today we will be looking at the Roland line of Electronic Drums and the benefits of each.

Roland TD-1K

The Roland TD-1K is a fantastic entry level electronic drum kit. Out of the box, this is the simplest kit to set up & play. The drum pads themselves are smaller than normal drums and are made of rubber. Allowing the user to focus in on their technique and rudimentary practice. The foot pedals are simple trigger pads, these is a lot easier on your ankles but do feel a lot different than standard chain driven pedals, so when you do move to an acoustic kit, you may feel a difference in your playing. One of the big things about electronic drum kits is the variety of sounds in the included drum module, commonly called the brain of the drums kit. Other features of the module include, built-in songs, a metronome and a training mode.

Roland TD1-DMK

Moving up into the range, the Roland TD1-DMK is a vast upgrade from the entry level TD1-K. The only thing that remains the same between the two models is the drum module. The pads themselves are made of a meshed fabric which feel a lot more like standard drum heads. Also, the TD1-DMK allows the use of an actual kick pedal (and double kick pedal for the metal guys)* allowing a more true to life drumming experience. 

*note: drum kick pedals are not included.

Roland TD-07DMK

With all the same features of the TD-01DMK the main upgrade in the TD-07DMK is the module. It has been upgraded with a better interface, more drum sounds, Bluetooth for cable free playing and the ability to use it for recording via laptop interface.
